In an information processing apparatus, the apparatus comprises: an acquiring element for acquiring a file which includes channel data denoting numbers and names of channels of TV programs distributed by a provider and which corresponds to the provider; a generating element for generating internal data based on the channel data in the acquired file, the generated internal data specifying the numbers and names of the channels; and a reception controlling element for controlling reception of the TV programs by selecting the channels based on the internal data.

A storage stores still pictures corresponding to scene switchovers of the moving pictures, and time stamps of the scene switchovers. A display controller provides a display control to display, given a reference position on the screen, the still pictures in positions at distances from the reference position. Those distances reflect differences between a time stamp corresponding to the reference position and the time stamp of the scene switchovers.

摘要： An information processing apparatus supplies time information by a real-time-clock (RTC) that is corrected and a correction history is recorded. When a signal representing a correct-time indication is received, a correction processing section corrects a setting time provided from the RTC using the signal and a result of the correction is recorded into a log memory. When a signal representing a correct-time indication is not received or detected, the correction processing section records failure of correction of the setting time of the RTC into a log memory. The correction processing section is also capable of reading a history of correction information from the log memory and correcting the setting time provided by the RTC based on the correction history.

A check box of a copy option setting window is selected in order to delete AV contents of an original recorded on a HDD after the AV contents are copied from the HDD into an external recording medium. A check box is selected in order to set so that AV contents recorded as compression data of the MPEG 2 system on the HDD are copied onto the external recording medium after they are converted into compression data of the MPEG 1 system which has compatibility with a video CD.
