    • A head suspension restricts deformation of a flexure caused by frictional force produced between a hard disk and a slider when the hard disk turns in a reverse direction. The head suspension has a load beam resiliently supported with a base. The base is supported with an arm that is turned around an axis. The load beam applies load onto a head having a slider to write and read data to and from the hard disk. The flexure is attached to the load beam and has a tongue that supports the slider. The flexure is provided with a limiter that limits displacement of the tongue due to frictional force produced between the hard disk and the slider when the hard disk is reversely turned. The limiter is on the base side and faces a free end of the tongue. The limiter is integrally formed from a part of the flexure, to face the free end of the tongue.

    • A head suspension for a disk drive has a load beam. The load beam consists of a rigid part and a resilient part that are independent of each other. The head suspension is capable of suppressing impedance variations in a flexure and avoiding air disturbance. The head suspension has a plate attached to a carriage, the load beam having the rigid part and the resilient part, and the flexure attached to the load beam and extended toward the plate. The resilient part of the load beam is made of a resilient material that is independent of the rigid part. A first side of the resilient material is laid on an end of the rigid part and joined thereto. A second side of the resilient material is joined to the plate. The first side of the resilient material is provided with a cut to partly expose the end of the rigid part. The flexure is extended through the cut toward the plate.

The head suspension has the plate attached to a carriage and turned around a spindle, the load beam having a rigid part and a resilient part and supported by the plate with the resilient part adjoining an end of the plate, to apply load on a slider arranged at a front end of the load beam, the flexure having a head to write and read data to and from a hard disk and a conductive path to transmit write and read signals to and from the head, the flexure being attached to the load beam and extended toward the plate, and a fixing piece formed on the flexure. The fixing piece is fixed to a resilient material at the end of the plate.
