    • An optical low pass filter for use in an imaging device including an objective lens and a solid state image sensor forming a plurality of picture elements thereon, which filter comprises a diffraction grating disposed between the objective lens and the solid state image sensor. The diffraction grating is of a type which the periodicity of an image of the diffraction grating projected onto the solid state image sensor by the objective lens is selected to be twice or 1/n of the periodicity of the picture element, wherein n represents an integer. The applicable imaging device may be of a type comprising an objective lens, a solid state image sensor forming a plurality of picture elements thereon, and a color filter array disposed on the solid state image snesor and including a plurality of sets of different color filter elements, or of a type comprising a single tube type color imaging device having an evacuated glass envelope, an objective lens and a color filter array including a plurality of sets of different color filter elements.

    • In a data processing apparatus, when an instruction for starting validation is provided, or when definition information is updated, data input from a data source is collected, and a process for narrowing down of the collected data is executed. In the data narrowing process, by extracting records and items as process targets according to the definition information that defines the operation of the apparatus, the number of data items used for validation is reduced. Then, the operation is validated using the narrowed data. In the operation validation process, a virtual transfer destination of output of data is provided within the apparatus, and the data is output to the virtual transfer destination, for comparison with the output data, whereby the validation of the operation is performed.

    • A two-dimensional solid-state image sensor device comprising a plurality of picture cells two-dimensionally arranged in column and row directions. Each cell has a static induction transistor having drain and source regions disposed on opposite sides of a high resistance semiconductor channel region, and a gate region adjacent to the channel region to control a current flowing between the drain and source regions, and a transparent electrode disposed via a capacitance on at least a portion of the gate region, in a manner that light is incident through the transparent electrode to the gate region in which the charge produced by the light excitation is stored to control the current. Selection lines connected to the gate regions in each column in common via the capacitances are sequentially selected. A readout pulse voltage is applied to the selected selection line during one horizontal scanning period and a refresh pulse voltage larger than the readout pulse voltage is applied to the selected selection line during one horizontal blanking period subsequent to the horizontal scanning period. Each picture cell is selected in the column and row directions so that a signal is read out therefrom.
