    • A plurality of insulators (18) are disposed in holes, respectively, defined in a metal plate (10) of a waveguide of a circularly-polarized-wave flat antenna. Each insulator (18) has a through-hole (18b; 31) and a protrusion (18d). The through-hole extends from the outside of the metal plate to the inside of the waveguide. The protrusion (18d) protrudes outward beyond the metal plate (10). The protrusion (18d) has a groove (18c) which is open to the outside. Curl antenna elements (22) each have a shaft portion (22a), an arm portion (22b), and a curl portion (22c). The shaft portion (22a) is fitted in the through-hole (18b; 31) of the insulator and partly protrudes outward from the metal plate (10). The arm portion (22b) extends from the protruded end of the shaft portion. The curl portion (22c) is in a substantially helical shape and connected to the top of the arm portion (22b). When the arm portion is engaged with the groove (18c) of the insulator, provided that the position of the groove of the insulator has been set in accordance with a desired orientation of the curl portion (22c) of the curl antenna element, the orientation of the curl portion is automatically set to a predetermined direction.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a loop antenna for linearly polarized wave whose constitution is simple and which is suitable to mass production. CONSTITUTION:A closed loop conductor 12 having the circumference of the dimension of one wavelength of a signal frequency is provided on a ground plate 10 with an interval. One end of a first line 14 whose length dimension is Lf passing through the center of the loop conductor 12 is connected with the loop conductor 12. Then, one end of a second line 16 having the length dimension of an interval (h) provided so as to go through the ground plate 10 without being electrically conducted is connected with the other end of the first line 14. The central conductor of a coaxial cable 18 is connected with the other end of the second line 16, and the outside conductor is connected with the ground plate 10. Then, the length of the first line 14 and the interval between the loop conductor 12 and the ground plate 10 are appropriately set so that an input impedance viewed from the other end of the second line 16 can be a pure resistance.

    • PURPOSE:To transfer information in a wide area by radiating a circularly polarized wave signal downward by a roadside antenna in hemispherical shape, and using an antenna for circularly polarized wave in an on-vehicle antenna. CONSTITUTION:A two-wire conical helix antenna 2 of truncated cone shape as the roadside antenna is arranged at a prescribed position in a road network setting its apex part directing downward, and a circular batch antenna 4 as the on-vehicle antenna is arranged on a vehicle 3, and road traffic information, etc., is radiated toward a road plane from the two-wire conical helix antenna 2 by the circularly polarized wave signal. Also, appropriate information is radiated from a traveling vehicle 3 as the circularly polarized signal by the circular batch antenna 4, and it is received by the antenna 2 nearby, and the information can be transferred in two ways. In such a way, it is possible to transfer the information between a roadside information device and an on-vehicle information device in a wide range of area centering the prescribed position where the roadside antenna 2 is installed.

    • A thin plane antenna that copes with the horizontally polarized waves and the vertically polarized waves, or the levo-rotary polarized waves and the dextro-rotary polarized waves, and in which a loop-shaped plane antenna element (12) is arranged in parallel with a ground plane (15), and a first feeder conductor (13) and a second feeder conductor (14) having feeding points displayed by 90 degrees are arranged between the plane antenna element and the ground plane. Central conductors (18a) and (19a) of the coaxial lines are connected to the first and second feeder conductors, and external conductors (18b) and (19b) thereof are connected to the ground plane to feed electric power to the antenna element through the electromagnetic coupling. When the electric power is fed from the first feeder conductor (13), the horizontally polarized waves are radiated and when the electric power is fed from the second feeder conductor (14), the vertically polarized waves are radiated. Upon changing over the first and second feeder conductors, the horizontally polarized waves and the vertically polarized waves can be transmitted and received. By providing the horizontal antenna element with slide elements, further, the levo-rotary polarized waves and the dextro-rotary polarized waves can be transmitted and received.
