    • A method for distributing a multimedia content to at least two rendering devices, wherein said multimedia content comprises at least two elementary contents, the method comprises the steps of receiving first information including information indicating for each of said at least two elementary contents a destination rendering device and a starting time; for each rendering device associated with said multimedia content, sending corresponding information indicating starting time for at least one elementary content destined to the rendering device; receiving said multimedia content; and sending said at least two elementary contents of said multimedia content to their corresponding destination rendering devices based on information indicating destination rendering device for each of said at least two elementary contents.

    • A remote site downloading system is disclosed in which a local computer establishes a session with a content server, and a content file and geographic destination drive are selected. The local computer is typically on a first access network and the user wishes to have the file downloaded to a geographic drive, i.e., a remote site computer whose location and other properties are mapped in a mapping file on the local computer. The geographic drive is usually on a different access network in a dynamic location such as a hotspot or a fixed location such as broadband cable or DSL. The local computer is specially programmed to allow selection of the geographic target drive, pack information comprising cookies and a URL, and sends it to the remote geographic drive computer, where it may act as a proxy to cause downloading from the content server to the geographic drive on the remote site computer.

    • A method for downloading and displaying a video program using a mobile terminal that includes a first radio access network having a first data transfer rate and a second radio access network having a second data transfer rate faster than the first data transfer rate. The downloaded video program is displayed at a predetermined playback rate. Excess portions of the downloaded video program that result when a rate at which the video program is downloaded exceeds the predetermined playback rate are buffered. A third data transfer rate that is lower than the first transfer rate is calculated in response to the predetermined playback rate, the buffered excess portions and the time duration of the remainder of the video program. The third data transfer rate is negotiated with the first network for downloading the video program when the difference between the first and third data transfer rates exceeds a threshold level.
