      SOLUTION: A sheet positioning system 118 is constituted by mutually connecting an assembly 204 for moving a sheet 236 along its transfer passage, an assembly 206 having its length over the substantially whole transfer passage width of the sheet 236, an assembly 202 for dislocating a position of the assembly 206 in the direction 240 for substantially straightly crossing the sheet transfer passage for correcting a lateral offset of the sheet 236, and an assembly 200 for pivoting the assemblies 202 and 206 (or also 204) around a shaft of a pivot 226 for correcting a skew of the sheet 236. The moment of inertia of the assembly 202 (and 204), particularly, its motor 228 (and 242) around its shaft, is restrained by arranging the pivot 226 so that its shaft cross with, for example, be orthogonal to the sheet 236 in the vicinity of the assembly 202 (and 204).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain generation of backlash on a driving gear by effectuating motive power transmission to a drive shaft from a power shaft by a sheet operating and aligning system with a driving motor fixed and arranged on it.
      SOLUTION: One or a plurality of driving rollers is or are driven by transmitting rotating motive power generated by the driving motor 20 through one or a plurality of the power shafts 18 rotating around shaft centers and one or a plurality of the drive shafts 16 in front of it or them. A sheet is fed by driving a driving roller 14 by inserting the sheet into a nip 28 formed between the driving roller 14 and a nip forming roller 26 on the opposite side. The power shaft 18 and the drive shaft 16 are connected to each other by one or a plurality of connectors 24 so that they become immovable each other in the shaft rotating direction. The connector 24 bends in the shaft extending direction when the driving roller 14 and the drive shaft 16 move along the shaft extending direction, and a position along the shaft extending direction of the drive shaft 16 against the power shaft 18 changes.
