    • In embodiments of the present invention, there is disclosed a method, apparatus, and network node for determining target packet delays of respective segments of a link. The method may comprise: collecting parameters affecting packet delays; and determining target packet delays of respective segments based on the collected parameters and an overall requirement on the packet delay of the link according to a relation between the packet delays of respective segments and an overall packet delay of the link. Besides, there is further provided a method, apparatus, and network node for adjusting target packet delays of respective segments of a link. With embodiments of the present invention, it is provided a solution of a packet delay guarantee for a multi-hop relay system, and the solution has a great scalability and a good backward compatibility and is transparent to both the core network and user equipments.

    • The present invention provides a method and a device for adjusting the sleep mode of a mobile station in order to solve the problem in current multi-hop relay systems of long time delays in data transmission caused when data packets have to wait for the next listening window to reach the mobile station because of packet errors. Wherein, a relay apparatus judges whether the previous hop network apparatus needs to retransmit data packets to the mobile station; when the previous hop network apparatus needs to retransmit data packets to the mobile station, the relay apparatus transmits to the mobile station the adjustment related information for adjusting the sleep mode of the mobile station. The mobile station adjusts the sleep mode according to the adjustment related information. Preferably, the adjustment related information comprises indicating information for indicating that the mobile station is in triggered listening status within predetermined time interval. In addition, the relay apparatus may also report the adjustment related information to the previous hop network apparatus. The technical solution provided by the present invention obtains shorter time delays, utilizes wireless resources efficiently, and decreases demand on relay apparatus.

    • The present invention relates to a wireless self-backhaul technique in a wireless communication network, especially in a WiMAX network, which implements wireless backhaul between base stations by using radio resources (frequency, sub-band or timeslot) of base stations' own. More specifically, uplink and downlink backhaul channels are formed between a master base station and a slaver base station using base stations' inherent resources and through offsetting the frame start time of the slaver base station for a period of time in relation to the master base station. The slaver base station operates in base station mode during local user access and operates in subscriber station mode during implementing wireless backhaul traffic with the master base station. Therefore, the slaver base station needs to switch between these two operating modes.

    • A method for uplink transmission is proposed in the present invention. The method comprises steps of: selecting, based on statistical parameters for uplink traffic of a relay node, an uplink transmission method from a set of candidate uplink transmission methods; informing the relay node of the selected uplink transmission method; and performing the uplink transmission by the relay node according to the selected uplink transmission method. A base station and a relay node for implementing the uplink transmission method are also proposed in the present invention. According to the present invention, the base station can dynamically select different uplink transmission methods based on the statistical parameters for uplink traffic of the relay node, and the relay node can perform the uplink transmission based on the selected uplink transmission method so as to achieve favorable delay performance and high resource usage efficiency.

    • To address the drawbacks of the current bandwidth requesting and allocation in the wireless broadband access network, the present invention proposes a technical solution of fast bandwidth requesting and allocation, wherein the MS sends a bandwidth allocation request message to the BS for only once, and the interactions between the BS and the MS are decreased so as to increase the efficiency of bandwidth requesting and allocation, effectively shorten the transmission waiting time of traffic data, and especially improve the support for latency-sensitive data traffic.
