    • There are provided a LED driving apparatus and a liquid crystal display apparatus using the same, in which a circuit configuration of the LED driving apparatus can be simplified and the cost of the LED driving apparatus can be saved in employing a LED as a light source of the liquid crystal display apparatus. The LED driving apparatus comprises a plurality of n LED lamps, constant voltage providing units that provide constant voltages to the plurality of LED lamps, respectively, a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control signal providing unit that provides PWM signals to the constant voltage providing units, respectively, and a feedback control unit that receives voltages feedbacked through the plurality of LED lamps, compensating for the voltages as constant voltages suitable for constant current driving of each of the LED lamps, and sequentially outputs the constant voltages to the constant voltage providing units, respectively, based on time-dividing.

    • Disclosed is a liquid crystal display (LCD) device having gate and data driving elements with improved heat dissipation properties. The driving elements each have the following: a source and a drain electrode, each with contact holes that provide electrical contact with an active area formed on the driving element's substrate; multiple separate channels between the source and the drain; and a gate electrode formed crossing the multiple channels. Also formed are dummy contact holes that allow the metal of the electrodes to penetrate to a layer below the active layer without contacting it. The dummy contact hole provides a thermally conductive channel whereby heat that would otherwise build up in the channels, and degrade the performance of the driving element, is conducted through the dummy contact hole and radiated away by the electrode metal.

    • A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display includes forming a gate insulating film to have different thickness in accordance with position. A liquid crystal display according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a first thin film transistor formed in a picture display part together with liquid crystal cells each provided at each crossing area of a plurality of signal lines for driving each of the liquid crystal cells; a second thin film transistor included in a drive circuit that generates a drive signal to drive the signal lines and formed in a drive circuit part located at the outer area of the picture display part; and a gate insulating film formed between an active layer and each gate electrode included in each of the first and second thin film transistors, and having a structure of at least two-layers, inclusive of an etch-stopper layer, and wherein the gate insulating films of the first and second thin film transistors are formed to have different thickness from each other.
