摘要： A liquid crystal display according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a liquid crystal panel assembly comprising a plurality of first field-generating electrodes, a second field-generating electrode facing the first field-generating electrodes, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first field-generating electrodes and the second field-generating electrode, and red, green, and blue color filters disposed at positions corresponding to the first field-generating electrodes; and a light source providing light to the liquid crystal panel assembly, wherein the light source emits a light comprising a red component having a central wavelength of about 620-680 nm and a half amplitude of about 25-70 nm, a green component having a central wavelength of about 525-545 nm and a half amplitude of about 20-50 nm, and a blue component having a central wavelength of about 430-480 nm and a half amplitude of about 25-70 nm.

摘要： A backlight assembly supplies a guided light to a display panel having a main display part on which a main image is selectively displayed, and a sub display part on which a sub image is constantly displayed. The backlight assembly includes a light source and a light guiding unit. The light source generates a light. The light guiding unit includes a light incident surface, a light exiting surface, and a corresponding surface. The light from the light source is incident into the light incident surface. The light exiting surface has a main region and a sub region, the sub region having an optical pattern increasing a luminance of the light. The guided light exits the light exiting surface. The corresponding surface corresponds to the light exiting surface. A luminance uniformity and a luminance when viewed on a plane are increased.

摘要： In a backlight assembly and a liquid crystal display apparatus having the same, the backlight assembly includes a light emitting diode that emits light and a light guide plate that supplies the light to a liquid crystal display panel. The light guide plate includes a guide recess formed at a first end thereof so as to guide the light emitted from the light emitting diode to a second end opposite the first end of the light guide plate. Thus, the light guide plate may prevent leakage of the light therefrom, thereby improving display quality of the liquid crystal display apparatus.

Also, a sub mold part for receiving the sub LCD panel comprises a black-colored material so as to prevent reflection of the light. Accordingly, thickness and power consumption of the backlight assembly may be reduced and display quality may be also improved by preventing leakage of the light at ends of the sub LCD panel.

摘要： A diffusively reflective film includes a base film, a light reflection layer and a light diffusion layer. The base film is flexible. The light reflection layer is disposed on the base film. The light reflection film reflects a first light. The light diffusion layer is disposed on the light reflection layer. The light diffusion layer diffuses the first light to form a second light. The diffusively reflective film may be bent to cover the light guide plate without being broken so as to increase the amount of light. Thus, a display quality is enhanced. Further, the diffusively reflective film covers the first side face, the second side face and the first face of light guide plate at once. Thus, productivity is enhanced and its manufacturing cost is reduced.

摘要： An apparatus for dual display includes a light unit providing a light and a display panel. The display panel includes a transmissive pixel transmitting the light from the light unit and a reflective pixel reflecting the light from the light unit. The display panel displays a first image on one side of the light unit by using the light transmitted by the transmissive pixel, and displays a second image on an opposite side of the light unit by using the light reflected by the reflective pixel. The display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate combined with the first substrate and disposed adjacent to the light unit, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and the second substrates. The display panel further includes a reflective layer formed on the first substrate corresponding to the reflective pixel. Therefore, a total thickness of the apparatus for dual display can be reduced considerably by using the light unit as a second display screen.
