    • The present invention relates to a filter module comprising a body of wound layers of a sheet material, said body having an inner and an outer peripheral surface delimiting the body with respect to an inner and an outer periphery, respectively, a first and a second end face, a winding axis and a passage extending along the winding axis of said body and in fluid communication with said inner peripheral surface, said sheet material having a plurality of openings formed therein, said openings forming at least two types of channels within the wound layers of sheet material of said body, said channels extending in a direction from the inner peripheral surface to the outer peripheral surface, a first type of channels being in fluid communication with the outer periphery at one end and closed at the other end located towards said inner peripheral surface, a second type of channels being in fluid communication with said inner periphery and said passage at one end and closed at the other end located towards said outer peripheral surface, said channels of the one type being separated from the channels of the other type by portions of sheet material, one of said types of channels being inlet channels communicating with a fluid inlet of said filter module, the other of said types of channels being outlet channels communicating with an outlet of said filter module, said one end of the outlets channels in fluid communication with the inner or outer periphery being covered by a filter material previous to the fluid in radial direction of said body.

    • The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a depth filter sheet material, the method comprising preparing a flowable aqueous pulp composition comprising a fibrous material and a binding agent; dispensing the flowable aqueous pulp composition onto a water permeable support in a predetermined amount per unit area; at least partially draining the water content of the aqueous pulp composition through said water permeable support; drying the at least partially drained pulp composition at an elevated temperature to form a depth filter sheet raw material comprising a first and a second surface section forming an upper and a lower surface of the sheet raw material, respectively, and an intermediate section positioned in between and integrally formed with the first and the second surface sections, the intermediate section having a permeability greater than the permeability of the first and second surface sections; and removing or displacing at least portions of one of the first or second surface section of the raw material. Depth filter sheet materials obtained by the method are also disclosed.

    • A module filter has a container with an admission for a non-filtrate and a discharge for the filtrate. A filter module is arranged in the container and has several stacked, disc-shaped filter cells of filter material having an inner space. The filter cells have central openings forming a central channel connected with the inner space. The central channel is connected to the admission. The container has a space surrounding the filter cells and connected with the filtrate discharge. Circular disc-shaped drainage support bodies are arranged between the filter cells and extend approximately over the entire surface area of the filter cells. The drainage support bodies have drainage channels that extend toward their outer rim. The drainage support bodies have projections projecting axially away from the drainage support bodies and extending radially. Between the projections intermediate spaces are defined which form the drainage channels and remove the filtrate.
