    • Headbox for a paper-making machine including a nozzle extending transversely to the machine running direction across the machine width.     • Headbox for a paper machine having a feed part, a central part extending across the machine width, and a nozzle. The nozzle extends across the machine width and has at least one continuous wall that runs across the machine width transverse to the lengthwise flow. For absorbing and discharging nozzle expansion forces in a sectional manner, several separate individual support devices distributed across the machine width for influencing the nozzle aperture are attached to the at least one, preferably continuous wall. The resulting lines of force of each support device remain at least substantially in a plane lying perpendicular to the direction of the machine width and in the flow direction, and the corresponding supporting forces individually, at least substantially, are directed to and absorbed in the central part in the plane of the flow direction.

    • A controlled-deflection roll having a stationary roll support or carrier and a tubular roll shell rotatable about the stationary roll support. The tubular roll shell bears upon the roll support or carrier through the intermediary of at least one bearing or support element. The roll shell is provided at its ends with guide members which are rotatably mounted in the roll shell and which are guided on the roll support in the direction of the pressing or contact movement or the disengaging or lift-off movement of the roll shell. The controlled-deflection roll is provided with a scraper device equipped with a scraper blade which, during operation, is in contact with the surface of the roll shell, and the scraper device is secured to the guide members.

    • A heatable controlled deflection roll contains hydrostatic support elements, each of which is supported in a pressure chamber and displaceable in a predetermined support or pressing direction. Heating of the rotatable roll shell or jacket of the controlled deflection roll is accomplished by infeeding a heated hydraulic heat carrier medium to bearing pockets of the hydrostatic support elements. This infeed of the heated hydraulic heat carrier medium is effected operationally separate from the provision of the pressure chamber with hydraulic pressurized fluid medium colder than the heated hydraulic heat carrier medium. The infeed of the hydraulic heat carrier medium and the infeed of the hydraulic pressurized fluid medium are thus accomplished via separate lines without thermal stressing of associated regulating valves and pumps and without a viscosity reduction of the hydraulic pressurized fluid medium, such viscosity reduction resulting in a loss of hydraulic pressurized fluid medium. In one embodiment of the hydrostatic support elements there are provided cavities which can be supplied with the hydraulic heat carrier medium separate from the infeed of the hydraulic pressurized fluid medium. In another embodiment of the hydrostatic support elements the infeed of hydraulic heat carrier medium is accomplished through the pressure chamber by a tubular-shaped sleeve sealingly displaceable relative to the pressure chamber.
