    • A cradle assembly for moving and positioning an item with respect to a support module in a storage assembly with the item including a bottom. The cradle assembly comprises a plurality of cradle beams, at least one cradle wall vertically extending upward from the plurality of cradle beams, and at least one stanchion vertically extending upward from one of the cradle beams. A padded support is operatively attached to the stanchion and positioned to engage the bottom of the item as a cradle assembly moves the item with respect to the support module. A positioning system is operatively connected to the padded support to horizontally and vertically position the padded support with respect to the plurality of the cradle beams to selectively engage the bottom of the item. Each stanchion and padded support includes a reciprocal stanchion and padded support, wherein positioning system selectively spaces the reciprocal padded supports from each other a width that is less than the width of the item being transported.

    • A system for moving watercraft for storage inside a dry stack watercraft storage facility. The system includes a frame assembly, a cradle assembly and a rack assembly which closely interact with each other to precisely and securely position and protect watercraft stored inside the facility. The cradle assembly lifts a watercraft from the watercraft's center of gravity to position in the rack assembly. The rack assembly supports the watercraft through a pair of cantilever beams, and further includes a pair of cable guides used to guide the cradle assembly in the placement of the watercraft on the cantilever beams and to reduce the sway present during the positioning of the watercraft. The frame assembly supports and protects the other assemblies.

    • In a watercraft storage system a “wishbone” or U-shaped cradle liftable and rotatable by an overhead crane comprises adjustable air filled hull supports to either side of a boat hull and a keel support toward the stem of the watercraft. The cradle central opening clears a cantilever storage rack support beam assembly allowing the watercraft lo be lowered onto or raised from the cantilever storage rack support beam assembly by an overhead traveling crane. To substantially reduce any longitudinal swaying of the cradle and watercraft during raising and lowering, a system or diagonal anti-sway bracing cables that automatically retract and extend is employed. In the preferred embodiment, the cradle is lowered into a water-filled channel within the storage structure to re-float the watercraft. A watercraft to be stored can be brought into the channel which contains alignment means to accurately position the watercraft over the cradle. The cradle can thereby be lifted properly, moved to a storage rack location and accurately stored on the cantilever storage rack support beam assembly.

    • A cradle assembly for moving and positioning a watercraft with respect to a support module. The cradle assembly comprises a plurality of horizontally varying cradle beams, a cradle wall extending upward from the cradle beams and a transportation track traversing the cradle beams. A transportation rail is slideably positioned on the transportation track to engage the bottom of the water craft as the cradle assembly moves the watercraft with respect to the support module. A positioning system is operatively connected to the transportation rail to extend a substantial portion of the transportation rail within the support module to place the watercraft in and retrieve it from the support module.
