摘要： A multi-domain liquid crystal display includes a first and a second substrates, and a liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first and the second substrates. A first common electrode is formed on an entire surface of the first substrate. A first dielectric layer is formed on the second substrate and covers first signal lines, and a second dielectric layer is formed on the first dielectric layer and covers second signal lines. A plurality of pixel electrodes are formed on the second dielectric layer, and a plurality of second common electrodes are formed on the second substrate, where a voltage difference existing between the second common electrodes and the pixel electrode produces fringe fields.

摘要： The present invention is a storage capacitor structure for liquid crystal display panels, by using a portion of the pixel electrode formed by the transparent metal layer that is overlapped and corresponding to the common electrode of the second metal layer, which is used as the storage capacitor for the pixel. The common electrode is also used as the second metal layer of the pixel, which shields unnecessary light of the backlight module to raise the contrast ratio of the whole display panel.

摘要： The present invention discloses an electrode separator, which is formed on a substrate that has strip-like first electrodes and is perpendicular to the first electrodes, wherein a common positive type photoresist material is firstly obliquely exposed and then vertically exposed and then developed to form the electrode separator by the two exposure steps. The electrode separator has a first lateral vertical to the bottom side of the electrode separator and a second lateral cooperating with the surface of the substrate to create an acute angle with one end of the top side having an overhanging portion. When the second electrodes are deposited, the overhanging portions can separate the metallic film of the second electrodes, and the metallic film of each second electrode is confined to between two electrode separators. Thus, the objective of separating the second electrode is achieved.

Capacitor electrodes connected to the common lines via the contact holes are provided on the first dielectric layer, and a second dielectric layer is formed overlying the capacitor electrodes. Pixel electrodes are formed on the second dielectric layer, and each pixel electrode together with each capacitor electrode form a storage capacitor.
