    • A lap joint includes an outer, flexible, cylindrical tube; an inner, solid, cylindrical pipe; and a securing device for compressing the flexible tube around the pipe for securing the flexible tube to the pipe and for providing a substantially leak-free connection between the flexible tube and the pipe. The flexible tube has first and second ends and a first diameter. The flexible tube includes a plurality of captured slots punched through the flexible tube at least at the first end. The plurality of captured slots have a first plurality of metal deformations to prevent circumferential slippage of the flexible tube and are disposed annularly around the flexible tube. Each of the plurality of captured slots are inboard of the first end and do not extend to the first end. The securing device is arranged and configured to completely cover the plurality of captured slots. The flexible tube also includes a plurality of relief slots punched through the flexible tube at least at the first end. The plurality of relief slots have a second plurality of metal deformations to prevent circumferential slippage of the flexible tube and are disposed annularly around the flexible tube. Each of the plurality of relief slots extends to the first end and extends a first distance inboard of the captured slots. Each of the plurality of relief slots is offset a second distance from the relief slots. The solid pipe has first and second ends. The first end has a second diameter less than the first diameter of the flexible tube. The first end is arranged and configured to telescopically slide within the first end of the flexible tube.

    • The present disclosure relates to a clamp for sealing a lap joint formed by a first pipe inserted within a second pipe. The clamp includes a strap having a concave inner curvature that curves about a central axis. The strap includes a first axial end positioned opposite from a second axial end. A first axial portion of the strap is positioned at the first axial end, and a second axial portion of the strap is positioned at the second axial end. The first axial portion has a cylindrical inner surface adapted to provide a seal about the first pipe, and the second axial portion has a cylindrical inner surface adapted to form a seal about the second pipe. A radial in-step connects the first and second axial portions. The radial in-step provides a diameter transition between an inner diameter D1 of the first axial portion and an inner diameter D2 of the second axial portion such that the inner diameter D1 is larger than the inner diameter D2. The clamp further includes a single fastener for tightening both the first and second axial portions at the lap joint.

    • The present disclosure relates to a pulse cleaner for cleaning a diesel exhaust treatment device. The pulse cleaner includes a cabinet, a diesel exhaust treatment device mount positioned within the cabinet for mounting the diesel exhaust treatment device during pulse cleaning, and a collection filter positioned within the cabinet for collecting material displaced from the diesel exhaust treatment device during cleaning. The pulse cleaner also includes a pulse generator for generating pulses that are each directed at a majority of a face of the diesel exhaust treatment device when the diesel exhaust treatment device is mounted at the diesel exhaust treatment device mount. The pulse generator includes a pressure tank for accumulating pressurized air, and a valve arrangement that flushes the pressurized air from the tank. A pulse of air for cleaning the diesel exhaust treatment device is generated each time the tank is flushed.
