    • A method of operating a hearing aid system (100, 200, 400, 500) having an adaptive filter (103, 213, 404, 503) wherein new adaptive filter coefficients are infered based on earlier filter coefficients within a Bayesian Learning scheme. The invention provides a closed form expression for the posterior distribution by modeling likelihood and prior with particular Gaussian distributions as to allow control of the adaptiation only via four hyper-parameters. The hyper-paramters may be estimated off-line. The closed form expression for the posterior distribution permits analytic Maximum a Posteriori estimation of the new adaptive filter coefficients. The invention also provides a hearing aid system (100, 200, 400, 500) adapted for carrying out such a method and a computer-readable storage medium having computer- executable instructions, which when executed carries out the method.
