摘要： A door assembly for an appliance includes a door having an interior side and an exterior side. A frame defines an aperture extending through the door from the interior side to the exterior side. A module is disposed in the aperture. The module includes a first component and a second component. The second component disengageably connects with the first component. A pivot member is operably coupled with the module and with the frame. The module is rotatable about the pivot member thereby allowing access to both the first component and the second component from the exterior side of the door body.

摘要： An ice level detection device (10) of a refrigerator includes an ice level detection arm (12) and an ice storage container detection arm (14), the ice level detection arm (12) operatively connected to a mechanical motor for movement between an ice sensing position with the ice level detection arm (10) extending at least partially into the ice storage container (34) and an ice harvest position with the ice level detection arm (12) being clear of the ice storage container (34), the ice storage container detection arm (14) abutting the ice storage container (34) while the ice storage container (34) is mounted at the door. The ice level detection arm (12) transitions from the ice sensing position to the ice harvest position for ice harvest by the ice maker. Opening the door disables ice harvest by the ice maker. Upon removal of the ice storage container (34) the ice level detection arm (12) transitions to the ice harvest position and disables ice harvest.

摘要： An appliance system including a module removably mounted to an appliance, one or more removable gas canisters operably connected to the module, and a food retaining enclosed space operably connected to the module. The one or more gas canisters supply a modified atmosphere in the food retaining enclosed space to produce a modified atmosphere that enhances preservation of the food contained in the food retaining enclosed space. A method of modifying the atmosphere in a food storage space for food includes the steps of: providing a module capable of being removably engaged to an appliance and typically receiving power from the appliance and at least one removable gas canister; operatively connecting or otherwise engaging the module with the appliance; operatively connecting or otherwise engaging the module to a food storage area having an existing atmosphere; and removing at least a portion of the existing atmosphere from the food storage space and replacing it with a modified food storage atmosphere using at least one of the at least one removable gas canisters to supply the modified atmosphere to the food storage area.
