    • A linear switched reluctance motor/generator is disclosed. The linear switched reluctance motor/generator comprises: at least two translators and at least one stator wherein the stator is disposed between the at least two translators; two yokes with poles to which coils are attached so that magnetic flux created by the coils crosses the translators and the stator to close in itself; and several air gaps. The magnetic flux only closes through the two yokes, defined by two outermost stators, or two outermost translators, and is mostly perpendicular to air gaps of intermediate ferromagnetic elements. The motor/generator is driven by power electronic equipment configured to: close or open each phase at corresponding moments in which a reluctance variation is appropriate; increase a reluctance in a motor mode; and decrease the reluctance in a generator mode. The at least one stator comprises poles, and a set of intermediate coils are attached to the poles and configured to create additional flux and guide the magnetic flux through interior portion of the coils.

    • - 12 The invention consists on a linear switched reluctance electrical machine that may be operated indistinctly as a generator or a motor, with a 5 series of characteristics that allow the optimization of the mass to power ratio, as well as the manufacturing cost. The machine has several air gaps, crossed by a single magnetic flux, in which the magnetic force is obtained. This flux is fed by a set of coils (6) placed in the active parts, these active parts are two yokes (4) and (5) in which the magnetic flux closes, there might be other 10 active parts in the mentioned magnetic circuit through which the magnetic flux does not close. A set of passive elements, normally the translators (1) and (2), produce, while moving relatively to the active part, a variation of the reluctance of the circuit with respect to the position which causes a magnetic force. The most unique characteristic of the present invention is that the 15 magnetic flux only returns through the two outermost active parts (4-5), allowing the desired reduction in mass, weight and cost.     • Generador/motor lineal de reluctancia conmutada que consiste en una máquina eléctrica lineal de reluctancia conmutada, que puede materializarse indistintamente en un generador o en un motor eléctrico, con una serie de características que permiten optimizar la relación masa/potencia, a la vez que se reduce el costo de fabricación. La máquina posee varios entrehierros en los que se obtiene la fuerza magnética, que son atravesados por un flujo magnético único. Este flujo es alimentado por una serie de bobinas (6) colocadas en las partes activas, siendo dichas partes activas dos culatas (4) y (5) en las que se produce el cierre del campo magnético, pudiendo existir otras partes activas intermedias en dicho circuito magnético por las que no se produce retorno de flujo. Una serie de elementos pasivos, que normalmente serán los translatores (1) y (2), producen al moverse relativamente a la parte activa una variación de reluctancia del circuito con la posición, que permite producir una fuerza. La característica más singular de la invención es que el flujo magnético sólo retorna por las dos partes activas (4-5) del extremo, lo que permite la pretendida reducción de masa, peso y coste.
