    • The present invention provides a method for manufacturing recording paper, in which a transfer film (4), on which a pigment-containing surface layer (3) that adheres to the absorption layer (2) has been spread, is placed on an absorption layer (2) that has been formed on a substrate (1). Thereafter the transfer film (4) is detached so that the surface layer (3) remains on the absorption layer (2). The material of the absorption layer (2) is spread in a molten state due to extrusion on the substrate (1), and the transfer film (4) is placed with its surface layer (3) against the absorption layer (2) in such a way that the surface layer comes into contact with the material of the absorption layer (2) while it, as a result of extrusion, is still at a temperature that promotes adhesion. After the material of the absorption layer has cooled down, the transfer film (4) is detached from the absorption layer (2) to reveal that surface of the surface layer (3) that as been against the surface of the transfer film (4). The amount of pigment in the surface layer may be from 50-80% by weight.
