    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stud wherein peeling off or falling off of coated layer on a castable refractory can effectively be prevented, and a lance pipe using the studs. SOLUTION: The stud is composed of one pair of arm parts extended in two directions from a fitted base part and return parts extended outward from these arm parts, respectively. The lance pipe is provided with a core metal 2, studs arranged on the outer surface of the core metal 2 and the coated layer 3 of the castable refractory covering the outer surface of the core metal. Two pieces of studs are disposed in radial state and with an equal interval with the axis of the core metal as the center on the transverse surface of the core metal. The studs arrangement is repeated in the longitudinal direction of the core metal for each unit composed of a perpendicular disposing type stud (1), where the V-shaped plane is perpendicular to the core metal axis, and a perpendicular disposing type stud (2) is disposed so as to shift by 90 deg. to the stud (1), a disposing stud (3) is disposed parallel to the core metal axis and a parallel disposing stud (4) is disposed so as to shift by 90 deg. to the stud (3).

    • PURPOSE:To easily prevent nitrogen absorption and execute ladle refining by refining the molten steel in a ladle by injection of powder and charging a carbon ic acid-contg. material to the surface of the molten steel to decompose thermally the material so that the surface of the molten steel is coated with the generated carbon dioxide. CONSTITUTION:The carbonic acid-contg. material such as limestone or dolomite is dividedly charged preferably little by little to the molten steel 2 contained in the ladle 1 via a chuter 4 and is thermally decomposed on the surface of the molten steel to generate gaseous CO2 in the stage of ladle refining consisting in subjecting the molten steel 2 to the injection of powder such as Ca alloy powder entrained in an inert gas via a lance 3 immersed into the molten steel from above and refining the molten steel. The above-mentioned gaseous CO2 expands the slag and forms a gaseous CO2 atmosphere in the idle 1 provided with a cap 6 thereby covering the surface of the molten steel 2. The nitrogen absorption from the air is thus prevented and the ladle refining of the extra-low S-, N steel is made possible.
