    • An arrangement for the retaining of container blanks (1) in a predetermined correct position on mandrels on a packing machine of the type which manufactures filled and closed packing containers from tubular container blanks and which comprises a stepwise rotatable mandrel wheel which is the bearer of mandrels distributed around the mandrel wheel which are intended to move container blanks applied to the mandrels in correct position between successive processing stations so as to achieve a bottom closure of the blanks. The arrangement comprises clamping elements pressed against the mandrels in the form, for example, of a lever which is adapted to be pivotable in a bracket at one lateral surface of the mandrel. The mandrel includes an upper clamping arm pressed against the mandrel and a lower maneuvering arm rigidly connected with the clamping arm as well as a spring element arranged at the top of the clamping arm (14). The clamping element (14) and the spring element can be disengaged from the mandrel through the effect of stops located at one or more of the stations which are adapted to act upon the maneuvering arm so that the latter through a forced pivoting movement adjusts the clamping arm (16) and the spring element (16) into a position wholly or partly disengaged from the mandrel.

    • In the intermittent forward feeding of a material web provided with transverse crease lines and simultaneous punching of holes into the material web in a definite relation to the crease line pattern, it is important to ensure that any faults in the length of the forward feed, do not accumulate during working over longer periods. Such faults, which occur due to unavoidable inaccuracies would lead successively to ever increasing faultiness in the placing of the holes. A method and an arrangement adapted to avoid the accumulation of such faults are provided.In the method the material web during each forward feeding is advanced a distance which exceeds the correct distance between two transverse lines by the fault margin. Subsequently, before the next forward feeding, the web is restored to a correct position, not affected by any faults in the distance between the crease lines.An arrangement for the carrying out of the method has, beside a driving element in the form of a driven roller situated in contact with the material web, also a register-holding element. The register holding element includes drivers, which engage with the transverse crease lines, and which after each forward feeding, with simultaneous disengagement of the driving element, restores the web a certain distance so as to place the crease lines into the correct position.

    • The invention is directed to a reamer for shaping a bone socket such as an acetabular cavity. The reamer comprises a cutting head for removing material from the socket during rotation of the cutting head. The cutting head comprises a number of relatively long main cutting edges, each of which extends in a direction from a base to a top of the reamer, and a number, higher than the number of main cutting edges, of relatively short peripheral cutting edges, which are located at the base and distributed at angulary spaced intervals about a rotational axis. The invention also provides a method for implanting a prosthesis component into a bone socket. During shaping of the bone socket, a top portion of the reamer is completely received in the bone socket to such an extent, that a cylindrical entrance portion is formed in the socket. The invention also provides a kit including a reamer and a prosthesis.
