    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the sealing of a control valve for a fluid circulation system.
      SOLUTION: A body 12 is equipped with a fluid inlet 18 and at least two fluid outlets 20 and 24, and defines a rotating housing for an adjusting element 26 which is designed to rotate around an axis of rotation XX and to take different angular positions in order to control the distribution of a fluid through the outlets. The adjusting element 26 is surrounded by a seal ring 42 which is in the form of an open ring and is rotatably mounted to the adjusting element with a small clearance between the adjusting element and the seal ring. In this way, the seal ring can be brought into contact with a lateral wall 16 into which the fluid outlets 20 and 24 open, and pressed inwardly in order to reliably provide sealing under the action of the pressure of the fluid. This invention is particularly suitable for motor vehicle fluid systems.

    • The invention concerns a circuit fed via a control valve (2) comprising a fluid inlet (15) connected to a cooling fluid line from the engine (1), and first (32), second (34), and third (36) fluid outlets connected respectively to a cooling radiator (3) of the engine (1), a branch pipe (4) of the cooling radiator (3) of the engine (1), and to a unit heater (5) for heating the passenger compartment. The method comprises controlling the valve (2) in accordance with a specific number of control phases distributed between at least two control modes, a control mode for cooling the engine (1) without heating the space compartment and a control mode for cooling the engine (1) while heating the passenger compartment, and controlling the valve (2) in accordance with at least a third control mode which is set up upon cold start of the engine (1) and for which the valve is controlled to interrupt circulation of the fluid through the valve (2). The invention is applicable to motor vehicle internal combustion engine.
