    • A rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus reproduces a rotary recording medium in which one and the other of first and second reference signals are alternately recorded every track turn between each track turn of a main information signal track. The reproducing apparatus comprises a reproducing transducer having a reproducing element for reproducing the main information signal and the first and second reference signals at both sides of the main information signal track from said rotary recording medium, where the reproducing transducer has a tracking control mechanism for controlling tracking of the reproducing element, a separation circuit for respectively separating the first and second reference signals from a signal reproduced by the reproducing transducer, a wave detection circuit for respectively wave-detecting the separated reference signals, a time constant circuit for eliminating an unwanted component of an output signal of the wave detection circuit and holding a required signal, a tracking control signal applying circuit for obtaining a tracking control signal from an output signal of the time constant circuit and applying the tracking control signal to the tracking control mechanism of the reproducing transducer, and an interrupting circuit provided at a stage before the time constant circuit, for interrupting transmission of the reproduced reference signals during a mode in which a tracking control operation is not performed.

    • A rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus for reproducing a rotary recording medium in which a plurality of fields of video signals are recorded for each track turn on a spiral track comprises a reproducing transducer having a reproducing element for scanning over tracks on the rotary recording medium to reproduce recorded signals, and shifting device responsive to a signal applied thereto for shifting the reproducing element towards the outer side or the inner side on the rotary recording medium, and a circuit for producing shifting a signal in order to shift the reproducing element by one track pitch towards the outer side on the rotary recording medium every time the reproducing element reaches one predetermined position on the rotary recording medium, and capable of producing a shifting signal for shifting the reproducing element towards the outer side or the inner side on the rotary recording medium according to the slow-motion ratio and the direction of the slow-motion reproduction when the reproducing element reaches another predetermined position on the rotary recording medium. The shifting signal is supplied to the shifting device. The tracks are reproduced a plurality of times with respect to each track turn, to perform a slow-motion reproduction.

    • A reproducing apparatus comprises a reproducing circuit including a pickup reproducing element, for reproducing recorded signals from a rotary recording medium, an address signal reproducing circuit for reproducing a track shift address signal from the signals which are reproduced by the reproducing circuit, a detecting circuit for detecting whether the address signal is reproduced with a predetermined period, a memory for storing the value of the reproduced address signal or a flag which is related to the value of the reproduced address signal, when the detecting circuit detects that the address singal is reproduced with the predetermined period, and a circuit for generating a control signal which causes the pickup reproducing element to undergo a forced track shift at predetermined positions on the tracks so that the pickup reproducing element scans along a scanning locus which has the same periodicity as the scanning locus along which the pickup reproducing element had been scanning up to that point. The control signal is generated based on the value of the reproduced address signal when the detecting circuit detects that the address signal is reproduced with the predetermined period, and based on one or a plurality of values which are pre-stored in the memory when the detecting circuit detects that the address signal is not reproduced with the predetermined period.
