摘要： The present invention provides a bodily fluid-absorbent structure improved so as to facilitate bodily fluids to disperse in a thickness direction of the structure. Core material 11 of a bodily fluid-absorbent structure 10 is formed of an aggregation of fluff wood pulp fibers. The aggregation has a basis mass in a range of 150 to 500g/m 2 and a specific volume in a range of 3 to 20cc/g. In the aggregation, a relationship between horizontal orientation index I H and specific volume VSP of fluff wood pulp fibers is represented by a formula as follows: I H is less than or equal to -0.099VSP + 2.4.

摘要： Provided is a sheet of nonwoven fabric which has surface irregularities and is for use as the surface sheet or absorbent of, for example, a paper diaper, the shape of the surface irregularities being less apt to be changed by external pressure, etc. The sheet of nonwoven fabric has a machine direction (MD), a cross direction (CD), a thickness direction (TD) which are perpendicular to one another, and has an upper surface (A) and a lower surface (B) in the thickness direction. The upper surface has a plurality of protrusions (2) continuously extending, in parallel, in the cross direction and further has a plurality of recesses (3) that are located between the adjacent protrusions and extend in the cross direction. The sheet of nonwoven fabric comprises a first fibrous layer (4) and a second fibrous layer (5), the first and second layers being located on the upper-surface side and the lower-surface side, respectively. The first fibrous layer comprises heat-fusible fibers, and the second fibrous layer comprises coil-shaped three-dimensional crimp fibers. The coil-shaped three-dimensional crimp fibers of the second fibrous layer have been oriented mainly in the machine direction and have formed a network due to entanglement thereof without having been fused at the sites where the crimp fibers cross one another.

Density of the nonwoven fabric 1 gradually increases in the order of the first crests 6a, the second crests 6b and the troughs 7. The first crests 6a are formed so that the density of the first crests 6a remains lower than the density of the second crests 6b even when the first crests 6a are compressed toward the lower surface 3 until the first crests 6a becomes flush with the level of the second crests 6b.
