摘要： An apparatus and method provides channel phase compensation for a digital radio frequency RF channel, by analyzing a demodulated signal (24) communicated over the digital RF channel and generates data representing an estimate of a channel phase (28), based on channel symbol reliability data (242) generated for at least one channel symbol received over the RF channel. The apparatus and method iteratively generates channel symbol reliability data (242) for a same symbol until a frame containing the symbol is determined to either pass a frame error threshold or until a predetermined number of iterations of channel phase estimates for a symbol is detected.

A first subset of a plurality of channel impulse responses is averaged over a first time period to produce a first filtered channel impulse response, and a second subset of the plurality of channel impulse responses is averaged over a second time period to produce a second filtered channel impulse response. The second time period is different from the first time period, and the second subset is different from the first subset. The communication channel location is determined using the first filtered channel impulse response and the second filtered channel impulse response.

摘要： Systems and methods are provided for channel estimation and timing synchronization in a wireless network. In an embodiment, a method is provided for time synchronization at a wireless receiver. The method includes decoding at least one TDM pilot symbol located at a transition between wide and local waveforms and processing the TDM pilot symbol to perform time synchronization for a wireless receiver. Methods for channel estimation at a wireless receiver are also provided. This includes decoding at least one TDM pilot symbol and receiving the TDM pilot symbol from an OFDM broadcast to facilitate channel estimation for a wireless receiver.

The disclosed apparatus includes a sleep clock frequency estimator to output a fast clock derived sleep clock frequency estimate and a sleep clock change frequency estimator to output an estimate of a change in frequency of the sleep clock. The apparatus further includes a combiner that weights at least one of the fast clock derived sleep clock frequency estimate to obtain a weighted sleep clock frequency estimate and the estimate of the change in frequency of the sleep clock to obtain a weighted estimate of the change in frequency of the sleep clock. The combiner also determines a new estimate of the sleep clock frequency using at least one of the weighted sleep clock frequency estimate and the weighted estimate of the change in frequency of the sleep clock. Complementary methods are also disclosed.
