    • A circuit unit including a plurality of lead frames which are made of a metal sheet and one of which is used for die-bonding an integrated circuit. The die-bonding lead member is formed to have at least a generally H-shaped portion constructed of a pair of parallel side portions and a connecting portion for connecting the two side portions for die-bonding the integrated circuit thereto. The remaining lead members are separated from said die-bonding one and have individual end portions positioned in the vicinity of the integrated circuit and connected electrically therewith by means of bonding wires. The die-bonding lead member and the remaining lead members are integrated either with a potting resin for protection the integrated circuit or with the potting resin and/or an insulating plate backing the potting resin. The aforementioned two side portions are fixed on a holding member. Also disclosed is a process for fabricating the aforementioned circuit unit.

    • A TIG welding method and apparatus which enable a higher aspect ratio weld zone cross-sectional shape to be obtained and which further can prevent the heat radiated from the weld arc causing the permanent magnets to overheat, specifically a TIG welding method which causes an arc discharge between a workpiece and an electrode of a welding torch to cause the generation of a weld arc, uses permanent magnets to generate a magnetic field around the weld arc, and causes an electromagnetic force which is generated by electromagnetic interaction between the magnetic field and a current to act on a weld pool of the workpiece in welding, the TIG welding method arranging the permanent magnets around the electrode of the welding torch and moving the permanent magnets to make the magnetic field fluctuate and thereby make the drive force of convection which is applied to the weld pool fluctuate.

    • A serial printer comprises a printing head, a carrier for carrying the printing head, a platen, and a pair of guide members extending in parallel with the platen for supporting the carrier in a movable manner. An openable member is attached openably to the casing of the printer and supporting one of the guide members. Engaging receivers are formed in the carrier for allowing the one guide member to engage therewith and disengage therefrom in a direction substantially perpendicular to the extending direction of the one guide member. Engaging brackets may be mounted on the printing head for coming into and out of engagement with one of the guide members at a right angle with respect to the extending direction of the one guide member. Moving members may be supported movably in the casing of the printer for supporting the one guide member, when moved, to bring the one guide member into and out of an engagement with the engaging brackets. One of the pair of guide members can be supported by a front cover which can open and close a printer case. Because of the above described construction, the printing head guide can be made compact in size, light in weight and inexpensive to manufacture.
