    • A relatively small phased array antenna is formed at a low cost even if the number of radiating elements increases in order to improve the gain. The phased array antenna has a multilayered structure in which a number of radiating elements (15), a phase shift unit (16) for changing the phase of an RF signal transmitted/received at each radiating element, and a distribution/synthesis unit (14) are formed on different layers. Signal lines (X1-Xm) and scanning lines (Y1-Yn) are wired on a phase control layer (35) to connect phase shift units to each other in a matrix. The signal lines and the scanning lines are matrix-driven by selection units (12X, 12Y) so that desired phase shift amounts are set to phase shift units located at the intersections of the signal and scanning lines. In addition, switches (17S) of a phase shifter (17) are formed at once on the phase control layer.

    • The object of the present invention is to provide an antenna for communicating with a low earth orbit (LEO) satellite which is small-sized and light and can track a LEO satellite at high speed at a small-sized earth station using a LEO satellite. The antenna according to the present invention uses two offset parabolic antenna-type reflectors and each primary feed is installed in the focal position of a paraboloid forming the reflector. The quantity of an offset of the offset parabolic antenna is selected so that antenna gain is maximum at the minimum operational elevation angle. Each primary feed is mechanically independent of the mobile reflector, is attached and fixed to a feed line. In the meantime, each reflector is turned based upon an azimuth axis and an elevation axis according to Az-EL mounting.

    • A multibeam antenna capable of communicating with a plurality of satellites on stationary orbits at the same time includes a single main reflector, and a plurality of primary radiators for radiating electromagnetic waves toward the main reflector. The main reflector is constituted by the same number of partial reflectors as the primary radiators, the partial reflectors being joined to each other. Each of the partial reflectors is defined by a part of a different one of paraboloids which are different in the position of focus from each other. The primary reflectors are located at the positions of individual focuses. A subreflector is disposed between the main reflector and the positions of focuses and made up of a plurality of curved portions and a single flat portion.
