    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and surely remove foreign matters, such as a facing agent or rust preventive, stuck on a cast-in member without depending on a shot-peening or preheating.
      SOLUTION: A cylinder liner 1 with the facing agent and the rust preventive stuck on its back surface, is automatically rotated on a rotating means 11 provided with a driving roller 17 and a driven roller 18, and an injecting nozzle 12 fitted with a brush 24 is made to approach the automatically rotated cylinder liner 1. Then, high temperature water press-fed from a heating tank 13 with a pump 15, is injected onto the cylinder liner 1 from an injection nozzle 12 as the high pressure steam, and the facing agent and the rust preventive stuck on the back surface are efficiently removed without eliminating the cast skin existing on the cylinder liner 1.

A pressure detecting means is provided on an insert 20 constituting a part of the forming surface (a cavity forming surface 6a) of the cavity 6.
