The insulation layers 20 are arranged only at parts each corresponding to a surface of one side between the surfaces folded and facing each other. Further, a fold may be given a corner part to be folded so as to facilitate the folding.

      SOLUTION: In this inspection device, the coil end of the motor coil to be inspected after being expansion-molded is photographed from the axial direction. Then, the profile of the coil end is extracted on the basis of the image of the photographed coil end. Also in the inspection device, the tolerance of disagreement between the profile of a coil end having an ideal shape and the ideal profile is set in advance. Then, the profile of the coil end of the motor coil to be inspected is compared with the ideal profile, and when the disagreement of the comparison is within the tolerance, the motor coil is determined to be good, and when out of the tolerance, the motor coil is determined to be defective.
