    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a slide member which can thermocompression-bond a resin sheet with a good workability by using a resin sheet hewed out in a specific shape when the resin sheet is thermocompression-bonded on the outer peripheral surface of a substrate having a circular section to form a slide layer.

In the manufacturing method of the slide member, a parallelogram sheet piece (except a quadrate, a rectangle) or a strip-shaped sheet having a stepped part at both ends is used as the resin sheet. The size of the resin sheet is easy to adjust, and the resin sheet can be thermocompression-bonded with the good workability. Concretely, when the resin sheet is thermocompression-bonded on the outer peripheral surface of the substrate, the resin sheets do not overlap, no clearance is produced, and the interval of the clearance produced at both ends of the facing resin sheet is controlled. The above-mentioned items can be carried out with high dimensional accuracy.
