    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To report information that matches a signal state at the appropriate timing.
      SOLUTION: A signal information providing apparatus receives and obtains signal information including the current signal state of a traffic light, remaining duration time that the current signal state continues, and signal period information indicating a period in which the signal state varies. Also, the vehicle speed of one's own vehicle is detected and the distance from the vehicle to a stopping line in front of the traffic light is detected. Based on the vehicle speed and the distance detected, the arrival time needed for the vehicle to arrive at the stopping line is calculated. Based on the arrival time calculated and the signal information obtained, the signal state of the traffic light when the vehicle passes the stopping line is predicted. When the time required for the vehicle to arrive at the stopping line becomes equal to service-in information provision time, service-in information is outputted as voice. When the time needed for the vehicle to arrive at the stopping line becomes equal to attention seeking time, and if the signal state predicted is a red signal, attention seeking information is outputted as voice.
