    • A photothermographic material comprising at least (a) a photosensitive silver halide, (b) a reducible silver salt, (c) a reducing compound represented by the following general formula (1), and (d) a binder: Q1—NHNH—R1:   Formula (1) wherein, in the general formula (1), Q1 represents a 5- to 7-membered unsaturated ring bonding to NHNH—R1 at a carbon atom, and R1 represents a carbamoyl group, an acyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an aryloxycarbonyl group, a sulfonyl group or a sulfamoyl group, provided that when R1 is propylcarbamoyl group, Q1 is not 2,3,5,6-tetrachloro-4-cyanophenyl group. According to the present invention, there is provided a novel photothermographic materials showing high sensitivity, high development speed and little fluctuation of performance due to heat development temperature variation.

    • The present invention provides a photothermographic material comprising a substrate, and a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, reducing agents for thermal development and a binder which are provided on the substrate, wherein: the reducing agents for thermal development include a reducing agent which does not form a dye during thermal development and a reducing agent which forms a dye during thermal development; and the reducing agent which forms a dye has higher activity than that of the reducing agent which does not form a dye. It is preferable that the reducing agent which forms a dye at thermal development and has a specific chemical structure is contained in an amount of 40% by mol or less relative to a total amount of the reducing agents.

    • A photothermographic material comprising a defined amount of a compound represented by the following general formula as a reducing agent is disclosed. In the following general formula, R1 and R1′ each independently represent an alkyl group, at least one of which is a secondary or tertiary alkyl group; R2 and R2′ each independently represent hydrogen atom or a group that can be a substituent on benzene ring; L represents —S— group or a —CH(R3)— group where R3 represents hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; and X and X′ each independently represent hydrogen atom or a group that can be a substituent on benzene ring. The photothermographic material is characterized by providing sufficient image density by heat development, and showing good silver color tone and little change with time after the development.
