    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new chabazite type zeolite whose nitrogen oxide cleaning rate at a low temperature is higher even if it is applied with hydrothermal endurance treatment before compared with a chabazite type zeolite catalyst to which only copper is held as a catalyst of reducing and removing a nitrogen oxide.SOLUTION: The chabazite type zeolite is provided to which copper and an alkaline earth metal are held. It is desirable that the alkaline earth metal is at least one selected from a group composed of calcium, magnesium and barium. Furthermore, it is desirable that an SiO/AlOmolar ratio is 10-50, and an atomic ratio of copper/aluminum is 0.15-0.25. After the hydrothermal endurance treatment, the nitrogen oxide cleaning rate of such a chabazite type zeolite is higher than that of the chabazite type zeolite catalyst to which only conventional copper is held.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst comprising a chabazite-type zeolite which supports copper in which the nitrogen oxide purification rate in a low temperature is equal to and the nitrogen oxide purification rate in a high temperature is higher than that of the conventional chabazite-type zeolite catalyst which supports copper, after hydrothermal duration treatment, as a catalyst for reducing and removing a nitrogen oxide, and to provide a chabazite-type zeolite supporting a copper which is used therein.SOLUTION: The chabazite-type zeolite having an SiO/AlOmolar ratio of 15-50, a mean particle diameter of ≥1.5 μm, copper supported, and an atomic ratio of the copper of 0.15-0.30 with respect to an aluminum is obtained. The chabazite-type zeolite continuously keeps high catalytic activity at 150-500°C.
