    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device which can detect that the connection between a light source and a power supply device is not normal and in which the light source and the power supply device can be separated.SOLUTION: An illumination device of an embodiment comprises: a light source unit including a light source connection end and a light-emitting element; a power supply device including a power supply connection end connected to an external power supply and the light source connection end, a light-source lighting circuit which turns on the light-emitting element, and a control circuit which controls the light-source lighting circuit; and a connection detection circuit which detects the connection state between the light source connection end of the light source unit and the power supply connection end of the power supply unit. The control circuit has a threshold value, compares the threshold value with the detection results of the connection state detection circuit, and controls the light-source lighting circuit on the basis of the comparison results so that the light-emitting element performs prescribed light control.
