    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core melt holding device having a sufficient heat insulting property against a cooling water passage before the start of water pouring, capable of diffusing heat of the core melt to cooling water quickly, having high safety and having excellent cooling performance.SOLUTION: A core melt holding device 9 of this embodiment includes: a cooling channel 14; and a heat resistant material 16 disposed on the cooling channel 14. The heat resistant material 16 includes: a first heat resistant layer 17; a second heat resistant layer 18 disposed on the first heat resistant layer 17; a first joint part 19 interposed between the first heat resistant layer 17 and the cooling channel 14; and a second joint part 20 interposed between the second heat resistant layer 18 and the first heat resistant layer 17 and having thermal conductivity lower than that of the first joint part 19.
