    • An image reading device comprises an original table having a surface area defined as a reading section, a black mark, a carrier driven towards the reading section across the mark in the sub-scanning direction, a fluorescent light for illuminating the original and mark, and an image sensor fixed on the carrier and having a plurality of light receiving elements arranged in a line to read the image in the main scanning direction.
