    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen production apparatus and a hydrogen production method making it possible to obtain sufficient yield of hydrogen by improving using efficiency of solar light.SOLUTION: The hydrogen production apparatus has a light collector and a hydrogen generating reactor having an outer tube and an inner tube at a focus point of the light collector, the outer tube is constituted of a light transmitting material, a photocatalyst is arranged in at least a part of the inside face of the outer tube and the outside face of the inner tube, (i) a hydrogen generating medium containing a hydrogen atom containing material and a metal reaction medium flows through the inside of the inner tube, the hydrogen generating medium is evaporated, the hydrogen atom containing material and the metal reaction medium react, the metal reaction medium is oxidized and the hydrogen atom containing material is reduced, thereby hydrogen is generated, (ii) the oxidized hydrogen generating medium is reduced by the photocatalyst inside of the outer tube and the unreacted hydrogen atom containing material is decomposed, thereby hydrogen is generated, (iii) the hydrogen generating medium containing the reduced metal reaction medium flows the inside of the inner tube, hydrogen can be generated by continuously repeating (i) to (iii).
