    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drilling tool for a branch taking-out joint capable of performing drilling work surely with safety even if a gas pressure rises.SOLUTION: A drilling tool includes a cutting unit which moves a cutter moving part of a joint 200 and contains a cutter for cutting into an original pipe, a shutter unit 70 containing a shutter plate 80 which opens/closes a cavity of the cutter moving part of the joint 200, and a stopper unit 110 for attaching a plug 150 for sealing an opening of the cutter moving part of the joint 200. Before sealing the cavity of the cutter moving part with the plug 150 after completion of drilling of the original pipe, a space in the stopper unit 110 opposite the joint side of the shutter plate 80 and a space in the shutter unit 70 on the joint side are communicated with each other by purging assemblies 80, 120 and a hose assembly 140, for a same pressure. Thus, even if a gas pressure in the joint side space is high, the shutter plate 80 is not pressed to a low pressure side, allowing easy opening with less frictional resistance.
