    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering lock device capable of performing favorable locking operation. SOLUTION: The steering lock device is structured so that resistance R1 is installed in an electric path for actuating a lock, whereby a voltage drop in amount corresponding to a product obtained by multiplying a current by the electric resistance value of the resistance R1 occurs when the current flows in a current path for actuating the lock in association with lock actuation control. Therefore, the impressed voltage on a motor 10 at the time of the lock actuation control becomes below a corresponding value at the time of unlock actuation control. That is, an optimum voltage means is formed by the resistance R1, which puts the impressed voltage on the motor 10 at the time of the lock actuation control positively below the value at the time of unlock actuation control. Accordingly at the time of the lock actuation control, it is possible to avoid such a case that an unnecessarily high voltage is impressed on the motor 10.
