    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for examining strength of a steel tower, which examines the strength of a tower body in each construction section in the assembling construction of the steel tower. SOLUTION: This apparatus includes: a storage portion 1 for storing information; an input portion 3 for inputting the information; a display portion 2 for displaying the information; and a control unit 4 which performs calculation using the information stored in the storage portion 1 and the information input using the input portion 3, and which displays the result of the calculation on the display portion 2. The control unit 4 is a device which performs the calculation for computing the weight of the steel tower using the information input using the input portion 3 and the information prestored in the storage portion 1 and which makes the display portion 2 display the result of the calculation. In the calculation for computing the weight of the steel tower, which is performed by the control unit 4, a position of each member of the steel tower to be constructed is represented by coordinates on a two-dimensional plane; the length of each member is computed from the coordinates; and the weight of each section of the steel tower is computed by multiplying the computed length of the member by the unit weight of the member for totalization. The load acting on a cotter bolt 36 is then released by operating the Lever Block (R) 48, to support the ground-side yoke 35, and the cotter bolt 36 is replaced.
