摘要： A storage container having a bin and a lid is provided. The bin has a base panel, a front panel and a rear panel extending upward from the base panel, and two side panels extending upward from the base panel and spanning between the front and rear panels. A storage space is defined by the volume above the base panel and between the side panel, the front panel and the rear panel. The side panel, front and rear panels flare outwardly, extend from the base panel, and define a storage space that is smaller in cross sectional area proximate the base panel than proximate upper ends of the side panel. The lid has a top panel with a perimeter and a lip extending downwardly from the perimeter, and the lip flares outwardly as it extends downwardly from the perimeter of the top panel to facilitate vertical nesting of a plurality of like lids. The lid is sized and shaped to cover the upper edges of the side panel, the front panel and the rear panel, the lip overlying and adjacent to a top portion of the side panel, the front panel and the rear panel when the lid is in a closed position on the bin.

摘要： End effectors with closing mechanisms, and related tools and methods are disclosed. The disclosed end effectors may be particularly beneficial when used for minimally invasive surgery. An example surgical tool comprises a first and second jaw movable between a closed grasped or clamped configuration and an open configuration. The tool further comprises a soft grip mode for grasping the tissue at a first force during which a separation parameter between the jaws is measured, and a therapeutic clamping mode in which the jaws clamp on the body tissue at a force greater than the grasping force. The methods comprise grasping the body tissue between jaw members, measuring the separation parameter between jaws, indicating on a user interface the separation parameter for comparison to a desired separation parameter, and then releasing the body tissue for repositioning or therapeutically clamping the body tissue in response to the separation parameter indication.

摘要： A detachable anvil rod for use with an apparatus for circular fastening of hollow organs is provided. An elongated rod member has a proximal end portion, a distal end portion and an irregular surface portion intermediate the proximal and distal end portions. The irregular surface portion includes a plurality of grooves which define a plurality of raised ridges. The ridges are adapted to engage grasping surfaces of a grasping tool so as to minimize potential of slippage, thus enhancing the maneuvering procedure of the anvil rod about the operative site. The anvil rod also includes a narrowly configured mounting portion which enables the rod to be applied to and mounted within the distal end of the stapling apparatus from a variety of angular positions. An apparatus which incorporates the improved detachable anvil rod is also described.
