摘要： Disclosed are esophageal anti-reflux valve prostheses, and tools and procedures for peroral implantation and extraction of the prostheses. The prostheses disclosed have a semipermeable membrane to allow retrograde passage of gas, magnets disposed at a distal end of the sleeve to facilitate closure, and an outwardly bendable array of spikes that are longitudinally aligned for peroral insertion and lockable into a radially outwardly deployed configuration to keep the prosthesis from dislocating after implantation. The implantation tool has inner and outer concentric tubes, the inner tube releasably threadably connected to the prosthesis, the outer tube reverse threaded with the inner tube to advance a distal headpiece to engage, deploy and lock the spikes into the deployed configuration. A vacuum assist can be used to help impact the lumen wall on the spikes. The extraction tool is similar to the implantation tool with an inner tube for threadably engaging the prosthesis, an outer tube with a distal crown with a plurality of shoes to unseat and unlock the spikes, and an overtube shield to receive the spikes and facilitate extraction of the prosthesis.

摘要： Liquid filter assemblies including an upper sample reservoir, a sample filter and a lower storage bottle are supported by a vacuum base. The base has a vacuum inlet port and, for connection to the liquid filter assembly, a vacuum outlet port. A vacuum is provided through the base to below the sample filter to draw sample liquid through the sample filter into the storage bottle. The base may include an auxiliary vacuum outlet port for connection with additional devices. The bases may be connected from one to another through auxiliary vacuum outlets and the vacuum inlets to make a chain of liquid filter assemblies supplied from one vacuum source. Alternatively, one base may include multiple vacuum outlet ports so that it may support and supply vacuum to a plurality of liquid filter assemblies.

摘要： A sample container and filtration apparatus is described comprising a sealable sample container and a surface that is configured to interface with a vacuum base. When the surface interfaces with the vacuum base, a portion of the sample container is broached, providing a pathway for the vacuum source to pull the sample therethrough. In exemplary embodiments, the broachable portion of the sample container comprises an actuating valve. The method for using the sample container and filtration apparatus significantly reduces the possibility of contamination of the sample and during the sample testing procedure relative to the conventional devices and procedures, provides more consistent and reliable test results, and significantly reduces the number of preparation and testing steps for the testing procedure.

If coated on both surfaces of the glass sheet, the fluorinated polymer forming one of the coatings may be the same or different as compared to the fluorinated polymer forming the other coating. In especially preferred embodiments, the fluorinated polymer is the reaction product of at least one fluorinated acrylic ester monomer which is formed over an anchor layer of a hydrolyzed unsaturated alkyl silane adsorbed onto the substrate surface.

摘要： Scheduling functionality is described for resolving conflicts in the schedules of respective client devices, where the schedules are used to govern the recordation of media programs by the respective client devices. The client devices use virtual tuner functionality to receive media programs over respective communication channels, each channel having a prescribed amount of available bandwidth in which to receive media information. The scheduling functionality includes a conflict identification module for identifying conflicts in the schedules, a solution enumeration module for enumerating solutions to the conflicts, and a conflict resolution module for resolving the conflicts based on the output of the solution enumeration module. In one case, the schedules can be partitioned into a plurality of time segments, and solutions can be enumerated for each time segment in turn.

摘要： Scheduling functionality is employed at a head-end site to update schedules used by a plurality of respective client devices to define the recording of media presentation events. The scheduling functionality operates by: compiling a master list of unique entries culled from the plurality of schedules; determining whether any entries in the master list require updating; and updating, based on the determining, at least one of the plurality of schedules. The scheduling functionality helps reduce the amount of redundant processing operations involved in updating the plurality of schedules, and therefore provides an efficient technique for updating the schedules.
