    • The present invention generally provides an improved meat patty forming apparatus and method of operating the same. More particularly, the present invention provides an improved apparatus and method for forming meat patties using a mold plate having multiple rows or groups of patty forming cavities. An existing single row forming machine is modified by moving the fill slot relative to the existing stroke length so that the fill slot comes in contact or fluidly communicates with at least one newly added row of cavities. This is most easily achieved by modifying the existing fill plate and by adding cavities to the existing mold plate, so that the combination of modified plates operates with the existing stroke length (which is difficult to change), to produce multiple rows of consistent meat patties.

    • A golf ball and a method of manufacturing a golf ball is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of manufacturing a golf ball includes molding a cover made of thermoplastic resin over at least one intermediate layer of a golf ball; permeating an isocyanate solution comprising an isocyanate compound and a co-reactant compound into an outer portion of the cover; and permeating a catalyst into the outer portion of the cover. The catalyst catalyzes a reaction between the isocyanate compound and the co-reactant compound to form a reaction product. The co-reactant compound can be a second isocyanate compound, the catalyst can be a quaternary ammonium salt, and the reaction product can be isocyanurate. The reaction product modifies at least one physical property of the outer portion such that the physical property of the outer portion is different than the physical property of the inner portion. The modified physical property can be microindentation hardness, where the microindentation hardness of the outer portion is greater than the microindentation hardness of an inner portion of the cover.

    • A golf ball having a fluorescent cover and an ultraviolet light blocking, visibly transparent top coat is disclosed. The cover can bear a fluorescent coating or be made of a fluorescent bulk material. The fluorescent material is selected and provided in an amount effective to fluoresce by absorbing at least some ultraviolet light having a wavelength exceeding about 320 nm and emitting visible light. The top coat contains a narrow-spectrum short-wave ultraviolet light absorber. The top coat absorbs more ultraviolet light having a wavelength of about 320 nm than ultraviolet light having a wavelength of about 350 nm, while transmitting a substantial proportion of at least some wavelengths of visible light and ultraviolet light having wavelengths greater than about 320 nm. One particular ultraviolet light blocking material contemplated herein consists essentially of an oxalanilide. This combination of a fluorescent substrate and a short-wave ultraviolet light absorbing top coat is also disclosed to have other utilities as a coating system. The fluorescent material and ultraviolet absorber can also be formulated in a single, substantially homogeneous composition.
