摘要： An individual desiring to operate a pager via voice commands sends a message to a repository of voice recognition codebooks requesting access to a particular codebook. The repository device(s) respond by transmitting the codebook of that individual to at least one pager, which stores the codebook therein. In a second embodiment, each individual operating a pager by voice commands is provided with a codebook module, which contains suitable memory storage having at least that operator's codebook stored therein. By inserting the codebook module (or card) into the pager, that pager becomes at least partially controllable by the voice commands of that operator. The codebook module may be easily removed to permit the communication device to be rapidly reprogrammed by inserting the codebook of another operator.

The deployable space panel structure includes a first series of interconnected substantially flat panel members and a second series of interconnected substantially flat members. Pivotal connectors that allow substantially free rotational movement interconnect the edges of certain of the flat panel members of the first and second series of interconnected panel members and a deployment mechanism is provided that permit the first series of interconnected panel members to be in a separate plane from the second series of interconnected panel members. This permits the first and second series of interconnected panel members to have greater strength and rigidity than if they were both located in the same plane.

摘要： Subscriber units operating within a communication system are selectively addressed and required to solve a "Puzzle" generated by a central device (controller) of a two-way communication system. The "Puzzle" comprises one or more digital words and an operand, which provides instructions to the subscriber unit as to how to generate an answer. The subscriber units cannot anticipate either the occurrence nor the content of a particular "Puzzle". All subscriber units (both authorized and unauthorized) must return an answer to the "Puzzle" or they may be denied access to the two-way communication system. Also, unauthorized subscriber units may be detected when the central device receives multiple answers to a "Puzzle".
