    • A stereoscopic image display apparatus and method which reduce crosstalk and select either high resolution images or bright images. The stereoscopic image display apparatus includes first and second image forming areas, each area including multiple contiguous horizontal rows. The areas are alternately disposed in a liquid crystal display, and display right and left eye images on the first and second image forming areas, respectively. The display displays the images in a fixed manner or replaces or overwrites the image areas every time a frame is switched, and displays a frame image in which the right and left eye images are simultaneously displayed.
