摘要： In order to enhance versatility, a chip-type battery having a means for readily identifying a first terminal and a second terminal is provided. The chip-type battery includes: a body having a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape and contains a plurality of power generating elements in a stack, each element including a sintered material; a first terminal having a first polarity; and a second terminal having a second polarity. The first terminal is provided at a first side face of the body. The second terminal is provided at a second side face of the body located on other than the first side face. The first terminal and the second terminal include different metal materials.

摘要： This invention provides an electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery and a method for producing the electrode. The electrode includes a current collector and an electrode mixture layer formed on a surface of the current collector, and the electrode mixture layer includes an active material and a binder. The active material comprises first active material particles of substantially spherical shape and second active material particles of non-spherical shape. The second active material particles are particles of the first active, material particles crushed and are packed so as to close gaps between the first active material particles. This invention can provide an electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which the electrode mixture layer has a higher packing rate than conventional rates.

摘要： A coating liquid for use in formation of a positive electrode for a lithium secondary battery of the present invention includes a large-particle-size active material having an average particle diameter of 1 to 20 μm and a small-particle-size active material having an average particle diameter of 5 to 100 nm, such that the blending ratio by volume between two materials is 90:10 to 50:50, and the average particle diameter ratio (the average particle diameter of large-particle-size active material/the average particle diameter of small-particle-size active material) is from 50 to 500. The coating liquid is excellent in storage stability over a long period of time and makes dense packing of active material possible, and therefore a positive electrode produced with the use of the coating liquid of the present invention can provide a lithium secondary battery having a high energy density and a high capacity.

The laminate is shaped into substantially a rectangular parallelepiped and is made of a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a solid electrolyte between the positive and negative electrodes. The external current collectors are disposed at both ends of the laminate to support side faces of the laminate. One of the current collectors is connected to the positive electrode and the other to the negative electrode. A chamfered shape or an R-chamfered shape is provided at the edges and along the ridges of the laminate.
