摘要： This invention relates to an information-signal-processing apparatus etc. for performing a series of processing pieces by using plural functional blocks in response to any information signals, in which functions can be easily upgraded through version upgrading of the functional blocks. Control block 110 issues a common command and transmits it to a control block 120 via a control bus 111. Control I/F 120 of the functional block 120 converts this common command into an intra-functional-block command if the common command is the common command related to its own functional block, and supplies the functional section 120e with it. This enables the functional block 120 to operate adaptively in accordance with the common command. When performing upgrade of the functions by the version updating of a predetermined function block, the common command need not be changed.

A signal transmitting/receiving system includes a transmitter configured to transmit signals; and a receiver configured to receive the signals transmitted from the transmitter. The transmitter transmits signals using a first signal having an edge at a position that is 1/n from the beginning of a unit segment and a second signal having an edge at a position of (n−1)/n from the beginning of a unit segment, where n is an integer greater than or equal to three, one of the first signal and the second signal representing logic “0” and the other representing logic “1”. The receiver determines a signal type based on a length of an edge interval of either rising edges or falling edges of the signals received.

In this case, the plurality of processing portions is provided with a control-command-added information signal to which control commands are added for controlling the processing piece to be performed by some or all of this plurality of processing portions, for each predetermined unit of the information signal. Some or all of the processing portions respectively separate the control command and the information signal from the control-command-added information signal. The information signal thus separated is then processed on the basis of the separated control command for controlling the processing to be performed by this processing portion. The separated control command is added to the post-processing information signal for each predetermined unit thereof, thereby obtaining a control-command-added information signal to be output.

An ABL processing unit 33 applies a process that has emulated an ABL (Automatic Beam current Limiter) process to an image signal, a VM processing unit 34 applies a process that has emulated a VM (Velocity Modulation) process to this processed image signal, and a CRT γ processing unit 35 performs gamma correction on this processed image signal. The present invention can be applied to a case where, for example, an image that looks like an image displayed on a CRT is displayed on an LCD.
