    • A blower unit includes a case divided into an upper case portion having an air introduction port, a lower case portion for accommodating a fan, and a bell-mouth portion interposed between the upper and lower case portion portions. An air leading port is provided in the bell-mouth portion, so that air sucked from the air introduction port is introduced to the fan through the air leading port. An attachment boss portion onto which a motor is attached is formed to protrude from an outer wall surface of the upper case portion. Air blown by the fan flows through a duct which is divided into a first member integrated with the bell mouth portion and a second member integrated with the lower case portion. The first member extends from the bell mouth portion obliquely to cover the attachment portion, and the second member extends from the lower case portion in the same direction as the first member to be engaged with the first member. Thus, each of the upper case portion, the bell-mouth portion integrated with the first member and the lower case portion integrated with the second member is simply molded from resin by using a die.

    • In an air conditioning apparatus for a vehicle, a heater core is disposed in an air conditioning case so that a cool air bypass passage through which air bypasses the heater core is provided at an upper side of the heater core. When a foot/defroster mode is set, a defroster door for opening and closing a defroster opening is rotated to an intermediate position between a fully opening position and a fully closing position of the defroster opening. Therefore, a first air passage through which air from the cool air bypass passage flows into the defroster opening is provided between an inner wall portion of the air conditioning case and a top end of the defroster door. Further, a second air passage through which air from an air mixing chamber flows into the defroster opening is provided between an inner wall portion of the air conditioning case and a side end of the defroster door, and an amount of air passing through the second air passage is set to be larger than that of the first air passage. Thus, during the foot/defroster mode, temperature of air blown from the defroster opening can be improved.

    • In an air conditioning unit that cools a motor of a fan by partially introducing an air blown by the fan into the motor, a case has a wall for defining an air introduction chamber adjacent to an air passage. The air introduction chamber has an air inlet and an air outlet so that the blown air is partially introduced into the motor from the air passage through the air introduction chamber. The wall of the air introduction chamber slopes downwardly toward the air inlet and defines a lowest portion within the air introduction chamber. The air inlet is positioned adjacent to the lowest portion of the air introduction chamber.

    • According to the present invention, in an air conditioning apparatus setting a double laminar mode in which an inside air and an outside air are blown while being partitioned, when the maximum heating state is set during an air outlet mode in which air is blown out simultaneously from both of a foot opening portion toward feet of a passenger and a defroster opening portion toward a windshield, a passage for conditioned air is partitioned into a first air passage for the inside air and a second air passage for the outside air. The first air passage is communicated with the foot opening portion, and the second air passage is communicated with the defroster opening portion. In the double laminar mode, at an air downstream side of a heating heat exchanger, there is formed a communication path communicating between the first air passage and the second air passage, and an amount of the outside air at the side of the second air passage is set to be larger than that of the inside air at the side of the first air passage, so that the outside air in the second passage flows into the first air passage through the communication path. In this way, it is possible to improve a defrosting performance of the windshield.
