    • The present invention provides a regenerator which has uniform performance and extremely high productivity and can keep performance and reliability as a regenerator, as well as a regenerative material used in the regenerator, in order to solve technical problems in mass production. A mat type regenerative material is woven into a cloth shape by using flexible and very long fine wires (C1, C2) made of one or a plurality of heat storage materials having a high specific heat per unit volume in the operating temperature range, for longitudinal wire members (C1, C2); and fine wires (D3) comprising a core wire consisting either of a single filament (D1) of at least one of ceramic fiber, carbon fiber, and synthetic resin fiber which have a higher hardness than that of the longitudinal wire members, a proper elasticity, and an extremely low heat conductivity, or of a filament composite (D2) formed by bundling a number of the same filaments as the single filament into one body with a fixing agent such as synthetic resin or glass, and a polymeric synthetic resin covering the core wire, for transverse wire members (D3).

    • A method for determining dehydrogenase or its substrate in dehydrogenase reaction, which comprises subjecting a dehydrogenase and its substrate to dehydrogenase reaction in the presence of an electron carrier or a combination of a coenzyme and an electron carrier, allowing to form H.sub.2 O.sub.2 through transfer of electrons derived from the substrate by the dehydrogenase reaction to O.sub.2 via the electron carrier or via the coenzyme and electron carrier, stopping the dehydrogenase reaction, reacting said H.sub.2 O.sub.2 with a peroxidase and a chromogen, and measuring a formed dye, and a reagent for determining dehydrogenase or its substrate. By the method and the reagent, dehydrogenase or its substrate can be accurately determined in a short time regardless of the concentration of the dehydrogenase and/or the substrate and without staining tubes or cells of a determination device with a dye.

    • A non-sliding vacuum gate valve has a valve housing with a valve opening therethrough which is opened and closed by a gate valve body moved by a valve rod. The valve rod moves with linear and tilting movement so that the valve body tilts against the valve seat surrounding the valve opening. The valve rod is moved linearly by cylinder rods extending from a pair of cylinders attached to the valve housing on either side of the valve rod. A cam body having an angular cam slot is attached to a connecting member which spans between the end portions of the cylinder rods above the valve rod. The valve rod has a cam follower engaging the angular cam slot to provide the tilting movement of the valve rod and valve body responsive to the alternate reciprocal vertical movement of the cylinder rods, to open and close the valve opening.
