摘要： A facsimile apparatus has a transparent plate on which a document may be located. The document is then scanned by a scanner which includes electronic solid state light generation means e.g. LEDs which illuminate the document, with the light reflected from the document being detected by a detector. An electronic signal corresponding to an image of the document may then be transmitted to a remote location. Alternately, the facsimile apparatus may be used to copy the document. Cut paper sheets are withdrawn from storage and an image printed thereon by a heat transfer system in which a film of ink is selectively heated. Paper on which an image has been printed is then received on the upper surface of the storage. The facsimile apparatus may also have a document transporter for moving a document past the scanner with the scanner fixed.

摘要： The present invention intends to realize highly reliable communications between a frame relay network and an ATM network by corresponding service classes decided in both networks to each other. In order to achieve the above object, the frame relay data communication apparatus of the present invention used to allow communications between the frame relay network and the ATM network is provided with a frame receiver unit for receiving frame data from the frame relay network; a cell assembly unit for assembling received frame data into ATM cells and transmitting assembled cells to the ATM network; and a controller for controlling both frame receiver unit and cell assembly unit so as to extract priority order information from received frame data and receive priority order information of data used in ATM networks from an ATM network and decide a service class of the received data to assemble the received frame data into cells according to the decided service class.

摘要： A cell loss priority control method for an ATM switch in which degradation of the traffic characteristics of a high priority class or a low priority class is detected, a cell loss probability distribution in a buffer is estimated from the cell traffic characteristics, a buffer threshold value is obtained in accordance with the estimated cell loss probability distribution, and the cell is controlled by using the obtained buffer threshold value which maximizes total traffic throughput of both the high priority class and low priority class.

An ATM signaling apparatus 210 comprises a signaling convert section 201 for making conversion of signaling information between an ATM network 220 and a PBX 230, and a cell assembly and disassembly section (CLAD) 204 for cell assembling and disassembling user information. An ATM signaling interface section 203 receives and transmits ATM signaling information from/to the ATM network 220, and sends a user VC connect and a release indication 209 to the CLAD section 204. An non-ATM signaling interface section 202 receives and transmits PBX signaling information from/to the PBX 230. User information 206 and a user information cell 208 sent from the PBX 230 and the ATM network 220 is cell assembled and cell disassembled by the CLAD section 204.
