    • A knife folding machine comprises: a support surface (4) for supporting a lower surface of a sheet (S); a knife blade (5); a pair of folding rollers (6a, 6b) opposed to the knife blade (5) at a fold position with the support surface (4) therebetween. The knife blade (5) is reciprocated between first and second positions by a knife drive unit 7. The first position is away from an upper surface of the support surface, and the second position is adjacent a gap between the folding rollers. The reciprocal movement of the knife blade (5) effects a folding operation every time the sheet (S) is set at the fold position. The sheet (S) is conveyed to the fold position by the conveyer belt (13). The conveyer belt (13) is driven by a first servomotor (11). The control unit (12) controls the rotation of the first servomotor (11) so as to decelerate the sheet (S) before its abutment against the stopper (14) without its rebounding against the stopper (14).

    • Buckles (b1 to b4) are each provided with a stopper (S1 to S4). A pair of uptake rollers (W, W1); (W, W2); (W2, W3); (W3, W4), to supply paper to the buckles, and a pair of discharge rollers (W, W2); (W2, W3); (W3; W4); (W4, W5), to fold the portion of the paper discharged outside the buckles, are disposed at each buckle inlet. The discharge roller for a previous buckle simultaneously functions as the uptake roller for the next buckle, and the paper is sequentially introduced into the buckles and folded into a bellows form. Stopper drive mechanisms (d1 to d4) are integrally controlled by a control unit (C). The control unit receives input for the value of the difference in length between the last folded piece and the remaining folded piece of a bellows-folded paper in which a folding error has occurred, divides the length difference by the number of buckles, and sends control instructions to slide the stoppers in the same direction as the buckle inlet (e) relative to the stopper drive mechanisms for the length obtained by division in order to make the length difference zero.

    • A paper folding device is configured so that a folding line is always formed at a predetermined position of paper sheets. A paper supply section is provided with a conveyor belt for conveying paper sheets (P) sequentially supplied from a paper sheet stack. A guide plate (4) for aligning the positions of the conveyed paper sheets is provided on a conveying surface of the conveyor belt. A paper folding section has a buckle (10) comprising an outer frame (11) and bars (12) which extend between opposite sides (11a, 11b) of the outer frame and are arranged at intervals from each other. Paper sheet introducing gaps extended in the direction of the length of the bars are provided in the buckle. Before the start of paper folding operation, a control section calculates and processes data relating to the size of paper sheets and data relating to the position of the bars, so that the distance to the guide plate from a reference point in the direction perpendicular to the conveying direction (R) is set to a value with which a side edge of each paper sheet introduced into the paper sheet introducing gaps in the buckle is separated by a distance not less than a predetermined level from a side edge of a bar located closest to the side edge of the paper sheet. Then, the control section sets the position of the guide plate according to the set value.

    • An image formation device includes a receiving section, a formation section, a fixing section, a switching section, and a controller. The receiving section receives image formation data including image data, and sheet data which includes designations of a sheet and a corresponding fixing pressure. The formation section forms a toner image on the sheet. The fixing section fixes the toner image on the sheet. The switching section switches the fixing pressure between a first or second fixing pressure. When the fixing pressure is switched to the second fixing pressure and the fixing pressure designated by the sheet data is the first fixing pressure, the controller performs a mandatory image formation that includes a low-speed control that conveys the sheet at a speed lower than that for the first fixing pressure, and/or a toner suppression control that performs image formation with a smaller amount of toner than in normal.
